Pedals

GarageBand's Pedalboard offers stompbox effects across seven categories. Here's what each one does and when to use it.

Modulation

Chorus

Doubles the signal with a slightly detuned, time-shifted copy and modulates it over time. Creates a shimmery, widening effect — from subtle thickening to a lush, watery wash. Essential for clean tones that need to fill more space.

Category Modulation
Best For Clean arpeggios, ballads, shimmery intros
Key Controls Rate, Depth, Mix
Signal Chain Place after drive, before delay/reverb
Tone Tip Keep Rate below 40% and Depth around 50% for a natural shimmer. Push Depth past 70% for a more dramatic, 80s-style chorus wash.

More pedals coming soon. We'll cover every stompbox in GarageBand's Pedalboard across all seven categories.
